Official Ruling, Docket 2-B

The bridesmaids filed. The bride screamed. The groom finds out Saturday.

The Registry recognizes the bachelorette as the ceremony where the rights are actually granted; the wedding is the public notice. The bride goes on the Authorized Rights Holder line. The groom is the Subject of Authorized Operations, dated to the wedding day. Exclusive. Perpetual. Framed. Read aloud on a party bus under pink lights by whoever can get through it without laughing.

Nobody got through it without laughing. Samantha held it up to the window for a full block. Chris received a photo at 11:48 p.m. and replied with a question mark. The Authority has logged the question mark.

Record Status: Active, effective the ceremony. The bride may present the certificate earlier. The bridesmaids have thoughts on when.

Who files for the bride

The bride holds the rights. The bridesmaids decide how he finds out.

Three ways it goes. All three print on the same certificate.

The Bridesmaids

The Bridesmaids

Filed as a group, read aloud from the bed, sent to the groom at 10:47 p.m. His reply was a question mark. The bride was in a face mask and could not stop them.

The Maid of Honor

The Maid of Honor

Filed solo, wrapped, with a card. Opened at brunch. On the bride's nightstand by Sunday.

The Bride

The Bride

Filed by the rights holder herself, as a gift to the groom, presented at the rehearsal dinner in front of both families. Her father is still laughing. His mother has questions.

Procedure

How the paperwork gets filed

01

Collect the names

The bride on the holder line, the groom on the subject line. He is not consulted. He will be informed.

02

File it before the weekend

Pick the frame. The certificate fills in before you pay. Allow 1 to 2 weeks, so file before the sash is ordered.

03

Present it loudly

Bus, brunch, rooftop, rehearsal dinner. Read it aloud. Film it. Send it to him. Watch the typing dots.

Bylaws

Bachelorette bylaws, as adopted by the Authority

  1. The bride may scream. The Registry considers this an acceptance.
  2. The groom is informed, not consulted. Timing is the bride's. The bridesmaids may advise. They will.
  3. It hangs in the couple's home at a height chosen by the rights holder. The subject may suggest the garage. The suggestion is noted.
  4. Photos are permitted. Photos are expected. Photos are already posted.
  5. The rights are exclusive and perpetual. Returns are not accepted by the Registry or, as far as the Registry can tell, by the bride.
